Lump In Throat When Drinking

Zagreb and Ljubljana

In following school year (2005) we visited an area a bit 'unusual for a trip .. A bit 'to save a little' because they were eager to bring some depth there, the choice fell on Croatia and Slovenia. Compared to the latter, Croatia appears to us now very poor.
The first stop is the visit of Croatian territory in the town of Fiume (Rijeka ), made "notes" during the First World War.
We stayed in a tourist town called Flint, who was a bit 'empty in the spring but we were told to be very crowded in summer.
From here it was comfortable moving inland with a visit of Croatian visit the famous National Park of Plitvice Lakes located in an area of \u200b\u200bdense forests, rich in rivers, lakes and waterfalls. Unfortunately it is raining and the time at our disposal allows us to visit the park with calm and tranquility.

The next day we travel north to the capital Zagreb (Zagreb ). The city is very pretty, but we see poverty everywhere. Having traded in the euro kuna, but we could not seem strange to spend almost all because it cost very little.

Council to visit the Cathedral .

Unfortunately the trip is almost coming to an end and on the way back to Italy, we stop in the beautiful Ljubljana (capital of Slovenia )! Here the atmosphere is different and seems to be no poverty.

Time for a quick lunch and then again on the march towards the ultimate goal: the caves of Postojna . The cave system is 20 km long but the guide takes us for a short walk and then mounted on a kind of train that runs inside to move more quickly. It 'been a great experience!

All in all, these alternative destinations, there are not sorry;)
