Croweology , double cd The Black Crowes are so many things all at once: first, a live album grandissmo testimony of a band once again in a state of grace, then is the summary of the group's career, heir to the best tradition of rock stars and stripes (according to the magazine Melody Maker "The most rock 'n' roll band of rock 'n' roll"). Unfortunately this album is also their farewell: the brothers Chris and Rich Robinson have decided to stop flying for some time, pace of the millions of fans scattered everywhere (they have sold over 20 million records), especially in America. Croweology is therefore a budget, the squaring of a circle, a farewell (hopefully see you) in music along a handful of songs, 20, just like the years of his career for these guys in Atlanta, that the onset of the 1990 to 1994/96 storidirono it over and over again between drugs, alcohol, women, fights and quarrels, short of hotheads. But the music ... chapeau! The initial triad _completata from The Southern Harmony and Amorita 1994_ nice moments of high, hovering between Stones, Faces, Santana and The Band. And it's great to hear Croweology just for the pleasure of surprise with new arrangements, new instruments, a new look for classic printed for years in the hearts of those who wrote these lines. The debut today as the debut album from 20 years ago is entrusted to Jealous Again: the Stones square. Remedy dilated and relaxed in this version can be appreciated as always. Non-Fiction is as beautiful as in Amorita, just like a two- Ballad in Urgency Wiser Time , probably one of the highest ever of American rock. To hear Chris's voice is changed but still biting is an emotion, even when it becomes difficult to reach certain notes so high. The second disc opens with the touching She Talks To Angels and ends with the blues Bad Luck Blue Eyes Good Bye , their Since I've Been Loving You (old piece of Led Zeppelin). In the middle of the groove Downtown Money Waster , rock sound Morning Song and another handful of unforgettable songs. Let's Say Goodnight To The Bad Guys! Tuesday, January 25, 2011

What Can I Do To Treat Hammertoes
Cold War Kids: Mine Is Yours
If we stop and we stopped for a second run at least we could not not notice the skill of the Cold War Kids. All you need is a moment of patience and trust (somewhat blindly, I realize) who is writing this review for low spend an hour in the company of great music. The paradox is that in the era of I-Tunes and web 2.0, suffering from delusions of omnipotence and greed to download as much music we end up number of mp3, but also to forget many things. Too many irons in the fire and the result is that horses are neglected. They, the Cold War Kids led by singer and pianist Nathalin Willet fall into this category for several reasons. They are head and shoulders above the other, always on time they are forgotten by most. Of course, the music offered is not readily available: despite Californians (and thus contravening the most classic clichés that would only groups carefree in that piece of America) their sound is dark, very dark the attitude of Brit and impregnated some '80s new wave. Compared to the illustrious competition that goes back to The Cure, Joy Division and members, however, those atmosphere is contaminated with American sounds that emerge from time to time. The secret ingredient. Were out 20/25 years ago they might have done a bang, now inexplicably, you have to make do with the role of cult band. Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins at the time of the already stunning Robbers & Cowards he spoke enthusiastically about. There were a divine justice in the music world this third album, certainly less difficult of the former, it should get better fortunes. Royal Blue opens pop melody with a very pleasant, in which individuals apparently conflicting arrangements end up stuck to perfection. Louder Than Ever is there and asks only to be "posted" and codnvisa on some social networks. On the other hand have also said their naming their third album Mine is Yours: what's mine is yours.

Can You Wax Before A Spray Tan
Soundgarden: Telephantasm
This album went unnoticed despite the certification doc, that is the hallmark of the band who did it, deserves a second chance: we are talking about Soundgarden, returned to racing after the dissolution of late 90 '. We are talking about a group of quality, even in its darkest periods, was well above average. A painful separation decision, which marked the symbolic end of the Seattle scene and its surroundings. In fact, the closing of that chapter _iniziato Ottanta_ dawn of the year gave the final knockout blow (after the death of Kurt Kobain) on which a movement slowly died away the spotlight. The speech was revived last two years, when more than the usual big names who have never given up (Pearl Jam, Mark Lanegan, Mudhoney, Melvins, Dave Grohl, etc..) And the second comer (Stone Temple Pilots at all) returned to the revived Alice in Chains and Soundgarden now: big names. Telephantasm It is their calling card, the testimony of one of the most extraordinary bands of the last twenty years. Although music is an inexact science here we are dealing with algorithms almost mathematics: a rhythm section granite, an incredible wall of sound that paints apocalyptic scenarios (such as the album cover) from which you can see clearly the profile of Cornell: shouter in the best tradition of hard rock, just to understand a Robert Plant 90s adventure that stubbornly pushing to the limit of its possibilities with a single voice. Black Rain, reproposed outtake from the sessions to a disc entitled Badmotorfinger in 1992, reminds the world that shone with the strength explosive quartet on stage, something done only by the first decades Led Zeppelin. Obviously, it is recommended the deluxe version, full of demos, outtakes, live versions that accompany the cd itself, a sort of greatest hits spanning the entire career of training, from the beginnings to the more hard rock influences that made the fortune of going for the epic Superunknown essential Down On The Upside , rich gems such as Blow The World Upside and Pretty Noose . Mastermating For Guys
Tron Legacy: O.S.T.
After seeing the movie Tron Legacy, the sequel to the 1982 sci-fi first chapter (entitled Tron) with Jeff Bridges, I decided to "deepen" the speech listening to the soundtrack of the film consists of ad hoc by Daft Punk, the real value added of the whole project weblog Disney. Since the last real work of the electric goes back 5 years ago (amazing Human After All), many fans looked forward something signed by the French duo and given the shortage of production designer from our soundtrack is also a useful trick the wait. Daft Punk are masters once again: to immerse themselves fully skilled in the mood "revival" of the film, have planned an accompaniment that combines and revises two decades old fragments of sounds like the opening words of Rinzler (the first columns sound like) combined with inserts more "classical" and airy, with large sections of arches. Classical and electronic rarely got married so well, and the merit is all of these sonic alchemists. The piece entitled "The Game Has Changed (intentionally sketchy), this is an eloquent way. Adagio for Tron and Nocturne _potrebbero easily have been composed by Morricone Williams_ or move decisively towards the horizon of classical music. Then when the play seems directed at certain tracks thinks End of Line (Daft Punk to play a cameo in the film are clear where dee jays in a virtual room) to re-examine everything. If Fall accompanies scenes full of pathos in this cult When updating, the Joker is the energy Derezzed , unmistakable demonstration of technique and style.

Best of 2010
I'm back after a few days on the run from the blog ... on this occasion I decided to post my personal ranking (also released on the insert High Fidelity) with the best of 2010, artists, albums and songs (with links to outbuildings), exactly as I did last year. Keep on rockin 'in a free world.
